Our favorite good night snack #SHOP #GoodNightSnack We are big cereal eaters in our house and not just for breakfast. It’s a great afternoon pick me up and our preferred nighttime snack as well. A simple bowl of cereal with milk is usually just the right amount of sweetness to curb my sweet tooth before bed. We usually buy a variety of cereals but the kids have their favorites. Elliot’s favorite cereal is Kellogg’s Froot Loops.

Elliot discovered Froot Loops at a hotel continental breakfast last year, we let the boys choose whatever they want for breakfast when we travel. Visiting our family’s cabin is no different, they get to choose the cereal we buy for the mountains.  We headed into town last Thursday to pick up a few groceries and I’d hoped to find the specially marked Kellogg’s cereal that feature a Planes FIre & Rescue movie promotion.

Kelloggs Frosted Flakes #GoodNightSnack #Shop You can see I was lucky to find any good cereal, it seemed everyone else was shopping at Walmart for the holiday weekend too! I did find really cool Nighttime-themed boxes of Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops though.

Rather than our traditional bowl of cereal and milk we decided to make a fun little project using our cool nighttime-themed cereal boxes. Using a box cutter and glue, I created simple movie concession style boxes to hold their good night snack. Sort of like the plain brown ones you get at the movie theater but ours are more fun with Tony the Tiger and Toucan Sam on our boxes.

Popcorn and kellogg's cereal mix #Shop #GoodNightSnack What did we put in our movie concession style box? Froot Loops of course. I even mixed in a little popcorn for an extra fun good night snack. A perfect sweet and salty combination for watching a movie, without resorting to candy!

What’s your favorite good night snack?

  1. […] Snacks When you’re watching a movie, you need snacks, right? We bought some boxes of movie theater candy from our local drugstore (they’re always on sale for $1 each) and pre-popped some popcorn. I usually add 1/4 cup popcorn kernels to a paper bag, fold over the top, and microwave on the popcorn setting (no oil needed!) until I hear 2-3 seconds between pops. Amy at OC Mentor also has an amazing popcorn recipe you should check out. If you’re looking for something that might be easier for little ones to eat, Karen at Desert Chica has a great idea for cereal snacks. […]
