Grocery shopping can be such a chore as an adult but kids can turn anything into an adventure. Especially if there be pirate treasure at the end of the rainbow. 😉 The rainbow is the shopping list and the pirate treasure is getting to pick out a new box of cereal.
When I heard Walmart would have cereal with toys from the new Minions movie I couldn’t help but head over. While I grew up excitedly picking out cereal based both on taste and a toy, my kids haven’t really experienced that cultural phenomena. Maybe it not being the norm is a good thing but it is fun to see them experience the 4 emotions evoked by cereal box toys.
The moment the special box of cereal is spotted at the store. They really want you to buy it and will resort to pleading with puppy dog eyes. Depending upon how long you let this last, they may resort to explaining why this box of cereal is so special.
The moment you give in and put the box of cereal into the cart. They will be excited and eagerly anticipating the moment they open the box of cereal to find the toy.
The moment your child worries his sibling will get to the toy first. Unless of course you only have one kiddo, then they will likely skip this emotion.
The moment they realize you bought enough boxes of cereal for each kid. Everyone will have their own minion toy!
If your kids are excited about the new Minions movie too, head over to the #7theMinion hub to see the official movie trailer and lots of other minion fun.
