If you’re anything like our family, you’ll have an abundance of goodies left over from trick or treating, parties, and other Halloween festivities. Instead of throwing it out or baking more treats, how about tossing some of it together into an after Halloween trail mix?
Trail mix is a fun treat that can be customized with your favorite snacks or whatever you have on hand. In this case, it’s what you have on hand after Halloween!
It’s a great way to use some of the excess chocolate in your kiddo’s trick or treat basket and the leftover pumpkin seeds you just made! Throw in a few more things and you are done.
I started with the pumpkin seeds we roasted after carving our pumpkins. Then I tossed in some staple Halloween treats like small pieces of chocolate and candy corn. Add in some raisins which are NOT a trick or treating favorite but they are perfect in a trail mix. I wanted a little more crunch so I added in some mini pretzels we had in the pantry. Peanuts or popcorn would work great too!
A small handful of trail mix is a great snack when your kids get home from school or as a sweet treat in their lunch box. That is if you can resist munching on it after the kids go to bed tonight! 🙂
