Last month, I shared tips on how to support your school with Box Tops for Education. Some of the tips may have seemed obvious like buying products with Box Tops and then clipping the Box Tops before you throw it out. Today I am partnering with Sprouts to help you with a couple of the other suggestions, a designated collection spot and asking friends/family for help! This easy DIY Box Tops for Education storage bag can support both ideas!
Create a Box Tops for Education storage bag for everyone you plan on asking to help and don’t forget to make one for your own house too!
Box Tops for Education Storage Bag Materials
- Clear pencil pouch or Ziplock bag
- Clear packaging tape
- Box Tops for Education Label
I picked up a couple of clear plastic pencil pouches for this project (you can find a deal on them right now with back to school sales). I also made some with Ziplock bags because everyone has those on hand and they would be much cheaper to use if you make a lot of Box Tops for Education storage bags.
Start by printing this cute Box Tops for Education label I created. For a standard pencil pouch, I printed 4 to a page (change the setting when you print). For a Ziplock sandwich bag, I printed 6 labels to a page.
Then tape the label either inside the pouch using clear packaging tape. I made sure to cover the entire label so that no Box Tops could slip behind it. I ended up taping the labels on the outside of the sandwich bags because they were much smaller and harder to work with.
Stick your first Box Tops for Education Storage bag on your own fridge and then pass out the rest to your friends and family. Giving them a bag will help encourage and remind them to collect and save Box Tops for you and your school. If you are extra ambitious make a class set of the Ziplock bag versions and give them to your child’s teacher to send home with the whole class!
Remember each Box Top is worth 10¢ and it adds up fast when every kid brings in 40-50. What’s better than clipping free money for your school? How about winning Box Tops (free money) for your schoool!
