Last weekend, we had the pleasure of checking out the new Fire & Ice Skating Pavilion at The Westin La Paloma. It’s open to both resort guests and the general public through New Years Day. The highlight of the event is definitely the ice skating rink but the event also includes visits with Santa, holiday crafts, and s’mores.
General admission is $20 per person and includes two 20 minute ice skating sessions, ice skate rental and a s’mores kit. The number of ice skates are limited so it’s possible you might have to wait for the next session if your shoe size is popular.
A family pack is available for $60 and includes 4 skating sessions and 4 s’mores kit. Every Sunday is the MIXfm discount day, bring a package of diapers for the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona and admission is only $9.49. The $9.49 admission includes a s’mores kit too. 🙂

I definitely recommend checking out the Fire & Ice calendar to see when specific holiday activities will be offered including visits with Santa! And obviously the ice skating rink has a limited capacity so you might have a wait.
The Westin La Paloma offers a special Fire & Ice package for anyone interested in turning their experience into overnight fun! To learn more check out the Westin La Paloma Fire & Ice website.
The boys LOVED it. Quinn wanted to keep ice skating, we ended up making 2 pairs of candy cane reindeer and the boys would have happily munched on more S’mores if they’d been allowed. 🙂 We saw families of all ages enjoying the ice rink from toddlers to teenagers. It’s definitely a unique experience for desert dwellers and worth checking out for a special holiday experience.
Disclosure: We received tickets to the Fire & Ice experience for review purposes. As always, all thoughts and opinions (and photos and video) are my own.
