Are you headed to grandma’s house for Thanksgiving? Or maybe your mom’s for a special holiday meal? Travel during Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season is always super busy. With many people opting to drive rather than fly, you can prep for the road with these 5 holiday road trip tips.
Prep Your Car
Plan on prepping your car before your trip. That means check your fluids, tire pressure, and windshield wipers. It’d be silly to have trouble on the road because of something you could have easily prevented.
I am such a procrastinator, and I admit I am rarely early but when taking road trips I really try hard to leave earlier than necessary. Plan your trip to avoid extra traffic if possible. If you give yourself extra time, you won’t stress if you do run into traffic jams or car problems. A little extra time can result in a lot less stress! Can you imagine being stuck in the traffic below?! DUDE!
Pack For The Unexpected
Pack an emergency car kit in case you do have trouble. Be sure it includes a few things to keep you sane while you wait for help like water, food, emergency blanket, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer. If you have kids I’d throw in a deck of cards or maybe even my travel craft sticks to keep them occupied.
Pack And Prep Your Devices
Have all your devices fully charged before you leave. Also pack all your chargers including car chargers and portable battery chargers. On the off chance you have car trouble, you will want use your phone to get help!
