Pima County Fair 2013 {Giveaway}

Congrats to #40, Julia for winning the Pima County Fair Prize Pack!

The Pima County Fair opens in just about 2 weeks! It runs April 18th – 28th! Main gates open at 1pm during the week and 10 am on the weekends. The carnival rides open at 3pm Monday-Friday and at 11am on the weekends. We took the boys for the first time last year and they had a blast! There are a few new kiddie land rides this year and my boys can’t wait to check them out!

Check below for tips on attending the fair with little kids and discounts!

Pima County Fair 2013 with little kids:

I recommend bringing a stroller or wagon but you can also rent them at the fair.

  • Kiddie Land Carnival is located near the main entrance with rides suited for our littlest visitors!
  • Check out the Kiddie Kingdom in Pima Hall built especially for our young royal visitors, experience fairies, dragons and imagination stations. Perfect for kids 8 and under!
  • There is also a Mother’s Area in Pima Hall with comfortable furniture, a crawl and climb area, nap space, tables and baby wipes for changing. You can also find privacy for changing and breastfeeding if you need it.
  • The Interactive Science and Agriculture Activity Centers are located in Old Pueblo Hall. These exhibits are designed for hands on fun for kids 10 and under.
  • The Petting Zoo is always a favorite and located directly across from the red animal barn and The Great American Pony Trail Ride is located across from Corona Plaza.

My favorite part has to be riding the rides with my kids. I get to feel like a kid again with them and they get to see mom being silly with them. We love to race down the jumbo slide!

  2. Emma Holland says

I love the feeling of summer time near….warm weather and watching the kids run from ride to ride having so much fun together!

  3. Kristen says

I don’t know what my favorite part is because we have never been! Probably just the excitement from kids looking around at everything.

  4. Kelly says

I just think the fair is cool…I like the exhibits, some of the rides, some of the food and yes, seeing my kids have fun…like when my daughter was the only one riding some hippie bus/van ride and she loved it so much the lady kept the ride going for her and only her (you should see the smile on her face in the pictures!)…she was only 4 and I think she actually believed she was driving the bus! :)

  5. Emily says

What I love for the fair is the thought of being able to see so many different things in one area, outdoors, with my child.

  6. Corey says

Showing animals growing up at fair was my favorite and now I can’t wait to show my kids what I use to do!

  7. Daisy says

I like sliding down the big slide with my girl. This year, I entered a baptismal outfit I crocheted and my daughter entered a decorated rock. I hope she wins!

  8. Kristina F. says

My favorite part is the whole experience- getting out of the house and doing something we only do once a year.

  9. Michelle Foth says

As a singleton I went for the food. Love fair food. Now that I am a mom of 3 I love the excitement of the kids. They were the best memories for me when I was a kid and hope they will be for mine as well

Its hard to choose a favorite part when really I love the experience. It’s been a tradition before we had kids & now we have 2 kids to share the tradition with! What joy
