Tuesdays are the new “IT” day around here! I plan on sharing travel (Travel Tuesday) or Tucson centered (Tucson Tuesday) posts on Tuesdays. So make sure you stop in each week to see what I am sharing!
In an effort to help create shade and lower the cost of cooling your house, Trees for Tucson distributes shade trees throughout the year.
In fact the Trees for Tucson program has distributed approximately 75,000 trees since 1989!
We participated in the program and received 4 tiny little trees to plant at our house a couple of years ago. Check out how great they look today!
You get to choose from a few different tree varieties: Blue Palo Verde, Desert Willow, Red Push Pistache and Velvet Mesquite. To qualify, you must plant the trees on the east, west or south side of your home.
Tucson Electric Power customers can qualify for either 2 or 4 trees at $8 each depending upon the age of you house.
Trico Electric customers can request up to 3 trees per year at $20 each.
They even deliver the trees for free! Now if only they offered free planting!
