Do you have a toy shortage?? We definitely don’t.
In fact, I would say we are the extreme opposite, rather a toy surplus, a ridiculous toy surplus. And the thought of all Christmas presents that Quinn will be receiving is crazy.
He is such a lucky boy with tons of family that spoils him. So I decided to thin down the number of presents we are going to give him. (Don’t feel bad, he will still get plenty from Santa).
I bought plenty of toys at Target (at 75% off of course) and only kept a few of the really great ones that I KNOW Quinn will love. The rest we added to our donation pile. A few extra toys won’t really mean anything to Quinn, but one toy to a kid that may otherwise not get one is a HUGE deal.
And speaking of donations, I hope you will consider donating a toy or two this year. There is an extreme toy shortage going on.
KVOA’s Season of Hope is holding Emergency Toy Drivestoday and tomorrow to try and bolster their toy supplies. Their regular toy donation runs through Saturday (12/18/10) and has many drop off locations throughout town. Check out details here!
Their Emergency Toy Drive was up here at the NW side of town today, so we took our donations over. After we gave the Marines our toys, they let Quinn sit up in their CRAZY big truck. He was pretty excited about the “Army Man” picking him up and setting him in the truck. Of course he was in stunned, shy silence the entire time. But as soon as we got back in our truck, he started jabbering away, talking about the “army man”.
Other Tucson 2010 Toy Drives:
- The Salvation Army Angel Trees are at all 3 malls and accept donations through 12/23! More details HERE!
- Miracle on 31st Street has their Miracle “Magic” bus to stuff with toys available through 12/22. See the bus location schedule HERE! Plus Tucson Federal Credit Union locations are also accepting donations.
- Youth Haven Christmas Toy Drive. Multiple locations through 12/18, see a complete statewide list HERE.
Please help make Christmas happy for a child . If you have a toy closet already (for birthdays) perhaps you can spare one to donate, or if you have extra CVS ECBS or Wags RRs you could use some of those to buy a toy? Even one extra toy will make a difference!
