Have you ever dined from a food truck before? Gourmet food trucks are quite popular now offering a variety of cuisine types from BBQ to pastries and everything in between!
After seeing a few episodes of the TV show, The Great Food Truck Race I was intrigued by the concept!
Then I started seeing friends post about going to Tucson Food Truck Roundups on a regular basis. Roundups are when multiple trucks set up in the same location allowing you to try a variety of food in one convenient place.
We decided to check out a roundup a few weeks ago at the Sportsmen’s Warehouse parking lot. It was a smaller roundup with only 8 trucks scheduled, but perfect for our first experience.
The boys had a blast. There is something adventurous about eating outside in a parking lot surrounded by strangers. I can’t wait to take them to another one!
The food was pretty darn good. We ended trying BBQ beef and pork sliders and a BBQ chicken quesadilla from Stolen Recipe BBQ, mozzarella sticks and onion rings from Red Wagon Steak and Sub and whoopie pies from Pin Up Pastries.
The salted caramel whoopie pie was incredible!
Tucson Food Truck Roundup is a local group that organizes food trucks meet ups several times a week around Tucson. Check out their website or Facebook page for upcoming events including which trucks are scheduled to be there.
