I attended a media screening of Inside Out earlier this week and I’m sharing my thoughts about the movie with you today. Basically whether or not you should run out and see it this weekend. And of course you should!! Pixar has a home run with Inside Out for a lot of reasons but check out my top 5 reasons you should see Inside Out this weekend!
1. Awesome Cast
I didn’t know much about Inside Out when the previews first came out, so initially I wasn’t even sure I’d be interested in seeing the movie. Then I heard about the amazing comedic cast that included Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, and Phyllis Smith. With so many funny actors attached to the project, I figured it had to be worth at least a few laughs. They didn’t disappoint, each emotion was PERFECTLY cast. After seeing the movie, I think Phyllis Smith as Sadness was my favorite though. She was AMAZINGLY funny playing Sadness which sounds strange but go see the movie and you’ll understand.
2. Kids AND Adults Will Enjoy it
You can count on the kids loving any funny animated movie but most parents are a little more discerning. Inside Out will please both kids and adults. Again see reason #1 above. You’ll find yourself laughing your way through the movie and possibly shedding a few tears too. There’s also some sweet and bittersweet moments that parents will appreciate.
3. Bing Bong
I am SURE the most favorite character of the film will be Bing Bong, Riley’s imaginary friend. He’s both ridiculous and heart warming at the same time. My boys have already requested an Anger and a Bing Bong costume. I’m pretty sure it will fly off shelves but as of right now the Bing Bong Plush is still available on Amazon (affiliate link).
4. Cute Concept of Memories
I love the idea of little “emotions” inside everyone’s head guiding us each day from guidance in difficult situations to day dreams for down time. Beyond helping to build new memories each day, they also take care of the core memories that define our personality.
An amazing animated short about 2 volcanoes and LOVE debuts before Inside Out. I actually screened LAVA back in January during my Strange Magic press trip, and I shared a few fun facts about LAVA back then. Suffice to say that LAVA is really fun and you don’t want to show late and miss it!
