I had the pleasure at attending a social media event at the Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch a few months ago. I am ashamed to admit it was my first visit, ashamed because the Hacienda Del Sol is true Tucson treasure. How can I be a native Tucsonan and never been there before?? Pure craziness. If you’re a local I highly recommend a visit, it’s truly lovely. Naturally I wanted to share some of the loveliness with you!
The courtyard entry to the Hacienda Del Sol hints at the unique Tucson charm that you’ll find here.
I’ve stayed at very few Tucson hotels and resorts. I need to change that and hope I can sneak a couple of nights in at the Hacienda Del Sol in soon. Our 10th wedding anniversary is next month and I know the Hacienda Del Sol would be the perfect local getaway!
The main courtyard is lovely. With desert charm everywhere, including the “garden” which isn’t traditional to most people but is very lush and unique and perfect for Tucson!
How lovely is this fountain. It’s also a lovely feature of the entry courtyard.
Another fountain can be found in an adjoining courtyard, as well as plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the charm of the resort. I imagine weddings are gorgeous here!
Super cool fireplace.
The Hacienda Del Sol was originally built in 1929 as a girls boarding school for society’s elite families. It’s been rebuilt and renovated over the years but much of the historic and rustic charm is still present!
You will find lots of historic artifacts on display as well.
I didn’t get a chance to eat at The Grill but it is a recent winner of the AAA Four Diamond Restaurant Award and offers awesome views of the Tucson skyline. I can personally vouch for the desserts though. Does that surprise anyone. 😉
Staying at the Hacienda Del Sol with family would be my first choice but spending time there with friends is a close runner-up. It would make a fantastic girlfriend getaway! Don’t believe me? Drop by and ask Nicole and Courtney what they thought about the guest ranch!
