I started grumbling as soon as I went to run my bath.
Of course the bathtub was full of toys. It’s always full of toys after Peter gives baths.
If we had a tub in the master bath, it wouldn’t bother me nearly as much. Unfortunately we have only 1 tub in our house.
I was tired and ready for my bath and annoyed I had to to take an extra 2 minutes to pick up the toys.
Yup you read that right. Two WHOLE minutes. What a hardship!!
So to stop myself from ridiculously grumbling I thought about the silver lining. There MUST bath related things I can be thankful for instead. This is what I came up with.
I am thankful to have 2 bathrooms. Even if only one has a bathtub.
I am thankful I could bend over and pick up the toys. After tweaking my back a few weeks ago and having to crawl across the house, I realize what a blessing that really is.
I am thankful that Peter helps with baths most of the time.
I am thankful there wasn’t twice as many toys to pick up.
I am thankful I wasn’t cleaning up “number two” out of the tub. You can thank me for NOT sharing a picture of that experience a few months ago.
I am thankful my boys usually go to bed easy and I can take a bath most nights if I want.
I am thankful that the very next night the boys shared a bath (rare for them) and had a blast!
And I am thankful that Quinn easily cleans up the bath toys when I give baths.
Now I just need to work on Daddy bath nights… I bet Quinn would pick up his toys for him as well!
