Summer break is in full swing here in Arizona and I bet you’ve had a few “I’m bored” moments already! A friend recently sent me to a fun set of printables that can help alleviate the “I’m bored” moments! It’s the Ultimate Boredom Buster Kit!
The kit includes 10 activities, 5 creative activities, and 5 adventure activities. The science experiments and mini cooking lessons were most intriguing to me at first. Both boys love science and helping me cook.
Once I downloaded the kit, I decided our first activity would be the creative writing cubes, or as I call them creative storytelling cubes. I decided we’d start by taking turns telling silly stories based on how the cubes rolled. The boys each made their own cube by drawing pictures on a blank template.
The boys LOVED taking turns telling stories about the pictures. We did about 5 rounds before bed one night and they were begging not to stop. I think it helped that I went first, my story was ridiculous and I had them in giggles from the beginning.
They tried to up the ante each round, getting crazy and crazy with their stories. Basically, when a dolphin drives his car to drop a letter at the post office and then runs over an umbrella, you can get some silly-tastic giggles going on. 😉
I also printed the chore chart. We need a little more structure around here and this bonus chore chart is colorful and fun looking. 🙂 Plus I used my new laminator to make the chart reusable and more durable. I’d recommend using thin dry erase markers if you go this route, traditional dry erase markers write pretty thick for the line spacing on this chore chart.
The Ultimate Boredom Buster Kit includes 10 activities and is $20 and includes 3 bonus printables (like the Chore Chart) for a limited time. You can also opt to buy just the Creative Kit or Adventure Kit for $12 each. Use the promo code BUSTERS10 to save 10% through July 31, 2016.
