One of Quinn’s new favorite toys is the KidKraft Everyday Heroes Play Set. This set is both a fire station and police station combined into one great toy!
KidKraft Everyday Heroes Play Set Review
Peter put it together while Quinn was “napping”. It was super quick!
He loved that there was VERY limited assembly. It was literally a few screws to finish hinging the 2 halves together.
It took him longer to unwrap all the furniture & accessories. Everything was packaged very well.
You can think of it as a doll house for boys. Quinn always stops and looks at the big pink doll house on display at Target.
I guess some websites classify boy versions as “Play-sets.” Either way it’s the same concept.
I hate that a lot of the role playing toys are SUPERgeared towards girls and area almost always pink and purple. This is a great boy (or even gender neutral) Play-set.
Anyway, Quinn had some birthday money to spend and I knew this was the toy to buy when we saw it on display at Costco.
Quinn was estatic when he found it in the living room. He sat and played with it for 2 hours straight. He only stopped when it was time for our evening walk. As soon as we came back, he immediately went back to playing with it.
I loved seeing and hearing all the creative role playing that he was doing.
Some quick examples of the type of play/conversations we had while he was playing with it…
- He told me the “fireman was all done with the truck, and it was the policeman’s turn to drive it.” <— Sharing!
- He told me there was “a flying bug on the carpet.” There wasn’t, the bug was pretend. <— Imagination!
- The policeman and fireman would “wake up and eat” & “Work on their peter (computer)”. <— Great role playing activities
There were lots more examples but you get the idea.
He loves opening and closing the house (the buildings are hinged together). He will also keep it closed and play through the door and windows. This allows him different views of the rooms. I love that there are opening that allow for this!
I also love that we can just close it up and keep all the pieces contained within it! 🙂
I imagine other “men” will migrate over to the “Police and Fire House”. However, so far Quinn has been VERY occupied playing with the 2 dogs, 2 men, motorcycle, fire truck, helicopter and various pieces of furniture that were included. All the accessories were very “boy” oriented and covered some BIG things for little boys: Policeman, Fireman, Fire Truck, Motorcycle, Helicopter and of course Dogs.
It has 3 stories with 12 different rooms, so it allows for a lot of fun play time!
This was ~$80 at Costco a few years ago. You can find it on Amazon still: Kidkraft® Every Heroes Wooden Police & Fire Playset .
I have had my eye on the KidKraft toys already. There is a super fun looking parking garage available. It seems like a really nice toy, both in entertainment value and quality of materials & construction. I can definitely say I like the quality of the Police & Fire Station and I assume that the rest of the Kid Kraft play sets would be similar in construction. Check these ones out!
They also have several cute girl doll houses, and kitchen sets for girls that would be cool for girls.
In fact KidKraft has lots of fun toys, check out the Amazon’s KidKraft Store. The KidKraft website is fun to explore. I don’t think they sell anything on their website but rather directs you to other retailers. However their website is super cool for finding other fun KidKraft toys like this Castle set!!
Quinn still plays with his Fisher-Price Little People Racin’ Ramps Garage a lot. <—- And I would totally recommend it for toddlers
I think he would love the KidKraft Deluxe Garage I mentioned above! I may have to watch for a deal on it!!
Do your kids have any KidKraft toys? What do you think? I am quite impressed with the Police & Fire Station!
