We recently had the opportunity to check out the new behind the scenes tour at SEA LIFE Arizona. It was also our first visit to SEA LIFE Arizona!
SEA LIFE Arizona is an aquarium designed for kids with touch pools and an amazing 360o see through ocean tunnel. My boys really loved the tunnel, we saw lots of different animals including Ziva, Arizona’s first sea turtle.
And as of June 29th, SEA LIFE Arizona is offering a new Behind the Scenes Tour!
- Learn how they make ocean water in the desert
- Visit the laboratory, animal care and kitchen areas
- See how the SEALIFE team cares for the 5,000 creatures
- Experience hands-on learning and interactive fun
The new behind the scenes tour is something you can add on when you arrive at the aquarium. It’s an additional $4 for adults and $3 for kids (3-12). The 20 minute tours are limited to 8 guests and occur daily at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Quinn is almost 5 and really enjoyed it. He liked looking through the microscopes, seeing what the animals were fed and learning how they monitor the animals throughout the aquarium.
I would not recommend bringing toddlers, although maybe your kiddo is an exception. Elliot is not. At only 2, he struggled with standing still and listening in the small backstage area for longer than a few minutes.
Overall, both of my boys LOVED the aquarium and we can’t wait to go back. In fact we are headed to Phoenix later this month as a family so we might need to show daddy how fun SEA LIFE Arizona is!
