It’s New Year’s Eve and I am looking forward to fun new projects and adventures in 2017. Before we jump ahead, I wanted to take a quick peek at what were my most popular articles published in 2016.
Top 10 Posts Published in 2016
It’s no surprise that Disney and Star Wars dominated my top 10 posts with travel, costumes, and recipes thrown into the mix.
With over 20 DIY Star Wars decor ideas, you are sure to find a super fun project to make. Everyone can use a little Force represented in their home! The DIY AT-AT bed is amazing but definitely one of the bigger projects on the list. Our lightsaber lights are on the easier side and perfect for the Christmas tree, as baby shower decor or in a Star Wars themed bedroom!
Our book character costume round-up was inspired by the BFG costume I made this year for Quinn. I know some schools only allow Halloween costumes that are literacy based which is a bummer but hopefully, I helped some kiddos find a Hallowee costume to wear!
This fun craft project was inspired by our BB-8 Halloween costume from last year. He makes a super cute addition hanging in Elliot’s bedroom and could be used as birthday party or baby shower decor too! If you add a hanging lantern cord, it can be turned into a fun Star Wars paper lantern light.
We took a super fun family vacation to Orlando with extended family this year. We opted to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and I really loved the ambiance, it reminded me of New Orleans Square at Disneyland.
Costumes and Star Wars, it’s hard to beat that combo! This post is gaining traction again with the Star Wars Half Marathon happening at Disneyland again next month!
I don’t think little girls should have all the royal fun with costumes, I love coming up with DIY prince costumes too. My Snow White Prince costume was much easier than it’s predecessor, the Prince Charming costume although equally as cute.
I love that BB-8 makes the top 10 more than once! We can’t wait to see his return to the big screen next Christmas for Star Wars VIII! I bet this free printable valentine will be popular this year too!
I really loved sharing this recipe. It’s simple to make and the boys love it. Plus it’s healthier than the cupcakes I love to share. 🙂
This is sort of a cheater post. It wasn’t originally published in 2016 but it’s a long time favorite and I did update it with prettier pictures this year. If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely make plans. I want to try and make it in my new instant pot!
This was one of my favorite posts of the year, I am happy it was my number one post from 2016. Trading with Jawas at Walt Disney World is so much fun. I can’t wait to trade with them again on our next trip to Orlando!
I’d love your input, what sort of posts would you like to see more of on Desert Chica?
