Directions

Start by cutting 1″ strips of medium blue felt to create the collar. Depending upon the length of your felt piece, you may need to cut more than one piece. I needed two lengths to go all the way around the neck of the hoodie. Learn more

I recommend drawing or printing a template for the lightning bolt shape ahead of time. Then it’s easy to trace your design onto the felt before cutting it out. Learn more

I also created an ear template and then sewing the ears to the hoodie. I pinched them at the bottom when I was sewing the ears on to get them to fold over a bit like Bingo’s ears.

Now my costume is a little more complicated because I used a zip up hoodie. I recommend making this with a pullover sweatshirt to avoid the zipper complication.
