4 Reasons We Love our Knott's Berry Farm Visit

When we headed to California for Fall Break last year, we opted to experience a few other venues beyond our beloved Disneyland. Blasphemy, I know but sometimes exploring new places makes sense. Both Peter and I visited Knott’s Berry Farm as kids and decided it was time to check it out with our boys. We ended up having a really fun day and are planning on heading back again this year! Check out 4 reasons we really loved Knott’s Berry Farm.

Camp Snoopy at Knott's Berry Farm

1. Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm

Our favorite part of Knott’s Berry Farm was Camp Snoopy. Camp Snoopy has been around for 30 years but I don’t have any distinct memories of it as a child. I’m guessing it was much smaller when it first opened.  We were really impressed by the size and variety of rides dedicated to little kids. The boys had a blast running from ride to ride while we watched from the sidelines.

My favorite ride in Camp Snoopy is the Huff and Puff. Catch a little peek at the fun the boys had it below. You can guess why they call it the Huff and Puff. 😉

2. Fast Rides at Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm also has plenty of big roller coasters for older kids. Quinn was tall enough to ride a few of the roller coasters on the other side of the park, so Peter took him over for some big boy fun for a little while. Elliot and I spent most of our time at Camp Snoopy but I did get to try their Pony Express ride which was pretty neat. Instead of sitting in seats, you sit up on metal horses. It made for an interesting roller coaster experience. It was our favorite roller coaster at Knott’s because it was so unique.

Knotts Berry Farm Entertainment

3. Entertainment at Knott’s Berry Farm

Everyone really enjoyed the Wild West Stunt show, it’s silly and action packed show that Peter and I remembered from our childhood. The boys thought it was hilarious which makes it a win for us. Elliot and I really enjoyed the Halloween themed show at Camp Snoopy too. They even chose a few audience members to participate, E was too shy but he was clapping and bopping along to the music as they performed.

Nostalgic Rides at Knott's Berry Farm

4. Nostalgic Fun at Knott’s Berry Farm

Peter and I had some expectations about our visit based on our experience as kids. Given our love for the other theme park nearby, I didn’t have super high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by our experience and thought Knott’s Berry Farm really shined bright. Besides the amazing Camp Snoopy area, we really loved nostalgic fun we had as family. The log ride, bumper cars, and silly stunt show were fun things we remembered from our childhood and happily experienced it again with our boys.

Knott’s Berry Farm Visit Bonus Tips

I wouldn’t recommend the Holiday Inn Express nearby, the location on a few blocks away sold us on it originally. The location was awesome and it sufficed for a quick one night but honestly it felt really worn down. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel, close to Knott’s it would work though. Personally we’ll try another hotel next time, I think the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel looks fun.

When you plan a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm, I recommend checking out Medieval Times. It’s just down the street and was very entertaining. You can read more about our Medieval Times experience here.

Disclosure: We received media tickets for our visit. All opinions are my own including the fact that tickets are pretty inexpensive when you buy online, in advance.
