Thank you, Disney and Pixar for hosting me during the Cars 3 Event.

I just returned home from the red carpet premiere of Cars 3 and after seeing the movie twice already, I am happy to share with you 7 reasons why you should take your family to see Cars 3 this weekend!

1. Old Friends

Not only is Lightning McQueen back but the whole gang plays at least a small part in Cars 3. In fact, you see Doc Hudson quite a bit because of flashback scenes. Don’t worry there are plenty of funny Mater moments too!

2. New Friends

Cruz Ramirez is Lightning’s new costar and I know everyone is going to like her. I am also a big fan of Miss Fritter, she’s a little wild and crazy but who doesn’t love that? Plus you meet some old friends of Doc Hudson, including his coach Smokey.

3. Return of original Cars movie feel

What I liked most about the movie is that the style and story are reminiscent of the original Cars movie. Cars 2 had a more grown up story and theme which I thought was fun but it wasn’t for everyone. All Cars fans will love that Cars 3 returns back to its roots.

4. Movie themes

There are a couple of good lessons in the movie about changes/aging, mentors/mentees, and taking chances.  At least one of which is bound to appeal to most people in the audience. I have to admit I teared up a bit when I saw it the first time. 🙁

5. Family Friendly

There is no question that this movie is family friendly. Some people took issue with the violence in Cars 2, so I can reassure you that there is no violence to worry about. Little kids might find the demolition derby scene with Ms. Fritter a little intense but that’s about it.

6. Animation

The animation is amazing in Cars 3, it’s basically hyperrealism. The new renderer and technology make some scenes look completely real like they were filmed and not animated. The only clue that it isn’t real is the animated cars in it. 😉

7. LOU is awesome!

LOU is the Pixar short showing before Cars 3 and it is so sweet and entertaining. I really loved the story behind it, the message and you can’t help but love LOU. I’ll be sharing a bit more about LOU in a later post but it’s definitely worth getting to the movie theater a little early, so you don’t miss it!

Cars 3 races into theaters on June 16th.
