Last month, I visited the Art of Pinocchio, a special exhibit at the Walt Disney Family Museum. It celebrated the classic Disney film that won two Academy Awards, one for best original score and one for best original song. The exhibit featured lots of behind the scene information and archival images from the making of Pinocchio.

Unfortunately, the special exhibit is no longer open but with the release of Pinocchio on Blu-ray and DVD today, everyone can get a sneak peek at some of the historic details from the making of Pinocchio at home.

The Walt Disney Signature Collection release of Pinocchio includes hours of classic bonus material and exclusive features on Blu-Ray and Digital HD:

  • A reinvented rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star” created and performed by music influencers from Disney’s Maker Studios
  • Never-before-seen artwork from the film’s Pleasure Island sequence
  • Archival recordings of Walt himself during “Pinocchio” production
  • A recently restored and scored 1927 short featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

The Oswald short, Poor Papa is our favorite bonus feature on the Pinocchio Blu-ray. He’s one of Quinn’s favorite Disney characters. 🙂

An for the few people who didn’t grow up watching Pinocchio as a child, here is a quick sneak peek!

Pinocchio tells the tale of wood-carver Geppetto’s beloved puppet who embarks on a thrilling quest – with faithful friend Jiminy Cricket – that tests his bravery, loyalty, and honesty, all virtues he must learn to fulfill his heart’s desire: to become a real boy.

Disney hosted me during the #RogueOneEvent press event. As always, all opinions, and experiences are my own.
