This post, an interview with Stephen tWitch Boss and Allison Holker, hosts of Pop Up Santa and Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings is part of press trip with Disney for Mary Poppins Returns. Some interview questions and responses have been edited to improve readability.

We talked about what makes their shows, Pop Up Santa and Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings special and their own favorite family traditions. I’m sharing some of our conversation with you today!

What is Pop Up Santa?

For the first time ever as a 90-minute holiday special, Freeform’s “Pop Up Santa Holiday Special” has teamed up with sponsors to celebrate the spirit of the season through heartwarming moments including a home giveaway, a surprise baby shower at a military base, a family reunion of epic proportions, a celebration for two very special children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and more. The “Pop Up Santa Holiday Special” airs on Monday, Dec. 3, at 9:30-11:00 p.m. EST/PST and will continue to run throughout December.

Interviewing tWitch and Allison for Pop Up Santa

What it feels like to give back to amazing, deserving people?

tWitch: It’s time like these when it really puts into perspective, what it is that we’re doing because we work so much for ourselves throughout the year. We are so focused on us and our family, and stuff like that that. To see examples of people giving back and in the ways the ways that we can give back as well, it’s just incredible. It’s inspiring, you know what I mean?

Allison: So I don’t know if you guys know much about the show but it’s just about gifting amazing, beautiful things to really deserving people, and we’ve gotten to meet some really awesome, awesome souls they’ve done so much and they just deserve so much love around them right now. In the Pop Up special, when they approached us, they said they would be having a baby shower for seventy-five women that are all on the Army base and he said we’re going to the base, Fort Irwin. And my brother and his family live there. I literally jump every time I say it, but it was just like we have to be a part of this, you know? These women are just so deserving. They’re so brave, and they have so much going on, but they handle it like champions.

What is Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings?

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic” is back with an all-new installment once again hosted by Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Allison Holker. This year’s stunning and romantic weddings at Walt Disney World Resort will feature a spectacular “Mary Poppins Returns” theme and a special performance by country music superstar Martina McBride. This year’s wedding magic premieres on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8:00-9:00 p.m. EST/PST.

How their wedding and happily ever after impacts their hosting.

Allison: We started hosting actually together for the first time with Disney’s Fairytale Weddings, and it’s so cool to be able to work with your partner. I would think that we have a very happy marriage, [LAUGHS]. Our wedding was epic. It was amazing, and we really do love each other, and we get to be a part of these moments with other people, you know? So we get to look back at our wedding, like, you remember when we did this? And we’re able to look at our marriage and give advice to them about how we live our lives and so it’s just kind of like a reminder of how much love we have for each other.

How Disney brings the magic to Disney’s Fairytale Weddings.

tWitch: Because it’s just one of those things like she said, it brings you back to your wedding. Even share- sharing the first dance, you know what song you’re dancing to, you know why you’re dancing to it, but then imagine having the artist there to sing the song. And you didn’t even know they were gonna be there, [LAUGHS].

Allison: It always makes sense, though. It’s not just like, oh, we have a cool celebrity coming. It’s like, someone you look up to, or someone they love, it always makes sense for the celebrity because, during the wedding process, you get to know people very, very well. So what Disney does so magically…

tWitch: Magically, [LAUGHS]. You know what I’m saying?

Allison: But they really do. They pay attention to the details, and they really get to know the couple, so every surprise that happens, literally means something to them.

Can you imagine having a fairytale wedding? I think I’d love a vow renewal at Disney!

Their Awesome Christmas Tradition!

As much as I enjoyed hearing about the two awesome shows they host, I loved hearing about their family Christmas photo tradition. Every year they take photos with Santa as a family. So not just their kids sitting in Santa’s lap, mom and dad are in the picture too. And they don’t just wear festive holiday sweaters, they go full out in themed costumes!

Dude you know I love costumes! Clearly, these are my people! Last year they dressed up as characters from the Grinch with full-on prosthetics and help with their hair and makeup. The best part? They just show up at their local mall and wait in line with everyone else to take pictures with Santa. How fun is that!?!

Of course, I had to check out what they meant and I found this awesome picture on Allison’s Instagram feed. They look incredible. I can’t wait to see their Santa pictures this year!
