Are you ready to make a Captain America mask DIY style? This is a super simple craft idea for Marvel fans of all ages.

Pin these easy DIY America Mask for your favorite superhero fan

I made this simple Cap mask to celebrate the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Blu-Ray. So at this point you know it’s been around quite awhile. 😉

You only need a few simple craft supplies and you can easily make your own Captain America Mask too.

DIY Captain America Mask Template

I created my own mask template after checking out various Captain America mask designs online first. After sketching out the shape, I made a few different size versions before I settled on one that worked for the boys. Go ahead and use my Captain America Mask template if you like.

Cut out Captain America Mask Template
Use double sided tape to keep the template in place on the felt when cutting it out.

After finalizing my template I simply taped it (I love double-sided tape) to a piece of blue felt. Then I cut out my mask using very sharp scissors. Felt can be frustrating to cut with dull scissors (guess how I know ;-))

I managed to cut two masks out of one standard piece of felt. Then I cut the “A” out of white felt and hot glued it on to my mask.

Attach Elastic Cord to Captain America Mask
Add a piece of elastic cord to make and you are done!

I used the sharp end of a nail file to poke small holes into the felt for the elastic cord. I over-estimated the length of the elastic cord I needed for each mask and double knotted the cord on one of the mask.

Then I tried the mask out on each kiddo to figure out the length of cord they needed. Once I had a good fit, I double knotted the elastic cord on the other side and cut off the excess cord

That’s it. I told you it’d be easy and it turned out pretty great!
