I am a big fan of fun themed shirts for theme park visits. My favorite ones will always be the Quinnie the pooh and Elliot too Disney shirts I made for the boys a few years ago. My DIY LEGO man shirts are much more popular among readers though. I decided to update them for our LEGOLAND trip over fall break. The boys love the LEGO Movie and I knew it’d be easy to incorporate “Everything is Awesome!” into the design.
I already had a few plain t-shirts on hand and let the boys choose a color. I grab shirts at the Dollar Tree (yup only $1) or on clearance at Walmart (~$2) whenever I see them in the right size. I try to keep a few on hand for for random fun projects like this.
This time I used the light/white shirt transfer paper but wasn’t really happy with the brand, I would recommend sticking with HP transfer paper rather than saving a few dollars. It’s hit and miss with other brands in my experience.
Make sure you follow the directions for printing and ironing based on the iron paper you do buy! Some require you to print the reverse image of the design.
Everything Is Awesome LEGO Movie Shirt
I added Everything is Awesome to my original LEGO shirt design. Then I added the boys’ initials inside the outline. I’m sharing the blank Everything Is Awesome Shirt Template for everyone to use. Add your child’s initial to it or leave it blank, I think either way works great!
The boys love their new LEGO shirts and I think Emmet did too. 😉
Don’t miss…
