How to Travel More on less by comparing credit card rewards

We love visiting new places, returning to favorite places and just plain exploring out and about. Unfortunately, our travel budget isn’t as big as our travel goals. We use credit card rewards to supplement our travel budget by earning rewards and redeeming them for travel. My favorite credit card is the Chase Sapphire Reserve which allows us to earn points on our everyday spending and then use the rewards at 1.5X their value when we book travel through their Ultimate Rewards travel portal.

We use credit cards for all our everyday spending so we can travel more often and explore space.

How To Travel More On Less To Houston

We are currently visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Houston for fall break. We bought our airfare using our Chase Rewards. Our four tickets on Southwest would have cost us $1,092 but we only had to use $728 in travel rewards!

We use credit cards for all our everyday spending so we can travel more often. We also use credit cards for souvenir purchased to earn rewards for our next adventure.

How To Travel More When Buying Souvenirs

We are busy building our rewards back up by using our credit card to purchase meals and souvenirs in Houston. Combined with our upcoming holiday spending we should have enough rewards for our next big adventure over spring break.

Universal Orlando Loews Sapphire Falls Resort Pool

Earlier this year we traveled to Florida for a week, we spent a few days at Universal Orlando. We used our travel rewards to book our hotel at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card works for us because we can book just about any travel we want through their portal. That means we aren’t tied to any one airline or hotel company when redeeming our rewards.

We use credit cards for all our everyday spending so we can travel more often and touch lizards.

How To Travel More For Unique Experiences

That being said we also have a few hotel credit cards because they often offer values beyond just earning points, things like free wifi, free breakfast or upgraded rooms (depending on the brand). If you are loyal to one hotel chain or airline, it might be best for you to use a hotel or airline-branded credit card to maximize your rewards and other perks.

Learn how we travel more on less using credit card rewards. We use credit cards for all our everyday spending so we can travel more often.

If you don’t love to travel, you can still take advantage cash back credit cards. Everyone can use a little cash back in their life.
