Thank you, Disney, for hosting me during the Thor: Ragnarok press event.
Thor: Ragnarok is way funnier than the previous Thor movies. I’ve always loved Thor and Loki, so it’s no surprise that I was beyond excited to see this movie at the red carpet premiere. After seeing it I can say it’s my favorite Thor movie because of the tone and humor. And after attending the press junket, I know exactly why this Thor movie is so much better. Director Taika Waititi is zany and crazy. Clearly, his quirky sense of humor shined through in this film. I’ve seen some people say it’s very Guardian’s of the Galaxy-esque and I can see that but it definitely has its own vibe.

7 Reasons You Should See Thor: Ragnarok
At the moment Thor: Ragnarok is my favorite Marvel movie, mostly because of the characters in it. I can’t rule out what I will think next year with Avengers: Infinity War but I bet this movie will be hard to top for me. I am sharing the 7 reasons you should see Thor: Ragnarok and it turns out the characters in this movie really made it for me.

1. Hulk
I really love Hulk and while he isn’t getting his own movie here, Thor: Ragnarok is the start of a story arc for him that stretches over 3 different movies. I love laughing with Hulk and Banner even when they aren’t trying to be funny. They are funny and awesome all the time in my book.

2. Thor
Of course, you need to go see Thor: Ragnarok because of THOR. 😉 Thor sheds his long hair and seriousness in this film. I loved how funny he is throughout the film. I loved seeing him give Loki a run for his money too with his quips back.

3. Valkyrie
Valkeryie is an amazing fighter. Her personal history is important to the story as well and it was interesting to hear it come out in the movie.

4. Hela
Cate Blanchett is amazing and she makes a wicked villain. I love that the biggest and scariest villain in the universe is a female. She embraces who she is and doesn’t take no for an answer. I am never a fan of villains, but you can understand where she is coming from even if she is wrong.

5. Heimdall
I was so happy to see Heimdall back in this movie. He has always been very important to the people of Asgard and despite being exiled in the previous movie, he proves his loyalty and value to the Asgardian people in this film with his badass warrior skills.

6. Loki
Loki is one of my favorite Marvel characters, not a hero but not quite a villain either. His opening scene in this movie provides some amazing laughs, although more because of the crazy cameos than anything else. Still, I am so happy to see him with Thor again.

7. Korg + Grandmaster
Both are smaller, supporting characters to the story but all have their own awesomeness that can’t be ignored. Honestly, Korg steals the scenes he’s in and is played by Director Taika Waititi. And how can anyone deny the awesome randomness of Jeff Goldblum? He brings it as the Grandmaster of Sakaar.

Should Your Kids See Thor: Ragnarok?
My kids (7 & 10) will see Thor: Ragnarok, very likely on opening weekend. They’ve seen all of the Marvel superhero films except of course Deadpool and Logan. Should your kids see Thor: Ragnarok? Well, there is no straight answer but it really depends on your parenting style and your child’s personality.
Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on November 3rd.
