Elliot and I love the Porgs, the adorable new creatures introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Their presence created a few sweet and several funny scenes as they interacted with Chewbacca. BB-8 was our favorite little guy in episode 7 and he inspired a fun Easter basket a few years ago. This year I knew I needed to give our new porg friends the same kind of love and make a Porg inspired Star Wars Easter Basket.

I find that buckets and bins are more practical than actual baskets, so that’s what I prefer to use when making DIY Easter baskets. I found this galvanized metal bucket for only $2 at my dollar store. I love the simplicity of it and knew it would work well with a simple porg vinyl design.

Sometimes I like to reinvent the wheel, other times I go with super easy. I found this porg clip art file on Etsy and knew it would save me hours of design work.  My time is worth more than a few bucks and these files are adorable!!

I decided to cut one of the simpler designs with my Cricut maker using brown, orange and white vinyl. I ended up with 6 cute little porgs around the bottom of the bucket. The easiest way to transfer vinyl stickers is using Cricut transfer tape.

Porg Star Wars Easter Basket Filler Ideas

Once you’ve made your porg Easter basket or bucket, it’s time to fill it with cute Star Wars porg things!

There are quite a few Star Wars porg t-shirts on Amazon which is my favorite way to shop. Unless you want to get extra crafty and make your own, that’s what I opted to do this time. I already had the porg clip art files from Etsy, so I picked a different design and made a DIY porg shirt using iron-on vinyl and my Cricut Maker.

I found an adorable book featuring Chewbacca with his new porg friends, a LEGO set with a porg LEGO Minifigure and of course, a porg stuffed animal to finish off the basket. Add some orange tissue paper shreds and you are done.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

What else can you add to the porg inspired Star Wars Easter basket? How about a copy of the movie that introduced those little guys to us! Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available on Blu-ray and DVD starting Tuesday (3/27/18). It would make a great addition to any Star Wars Easter basket this year. Instead of silly bunnies, you can spend Easter watching porgs make friends with Chewie!Add Star Wars the last jedi dvd to Porg inspired Star Wars Easter Basket

Disney already sent us a review copy of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so we spent last weekend watching it a few times. My favorite scenes are the ones when the rebel alliance tricks Kylo Ren, General Hux, and The First Order. The Blu-ray also includes some fun bonus features like deleted scenes, scene breakdowns and more! The scene breakdowns were interesting, they showed how some of the really epic scenes like the showdown on Crait and the space battle came to life.
