We loved our stay at the LEGOLAND California Resort last month. It was so much fun and overall we were super impressed with their new hotel. Here are our 5 reasons why I think you would love it too!
1. Super LEGO Themed Rooms
A few weeks ago I shared our experience in a Pirate themed room in detail. The separate adult and kid space is especially nice considering they are just standard (small) hotel rooms. It helps give everyone space. And you can’t top the extreme theming in the room. It was over the top Pirate LEGO and the boys loved it!
2. The Lobby
The entire hotel is actually super LEGO themed. The boys were so excited as soon as we arrived, the fun LEGO decor is everywhere. Immediately in front of registration desk there is a good sized LEGO bricks pit to keep the kids entertained while you check in and in the atrium next to the lobby area is a HUGE Pirate Ship play area with lots of additional LEGO bricks and other fun stuff.
3. Nightly Entertainment
Besides the interactive play areas and pool, the hotel offers entertainment in the evening. While we were there they had a Hero Training Class, LEGO Model Building Competition, Kids Improv Hour, Swim-In Movie (a LEGO movie of course) and costume characters in the lobby!
4. Disco Elevators
The boys LOVED the elevators. It’s only a three story hotel but the elevator was definitely necessary with our stroller. The boys loved riding in it; basically when the doors close a disco ball turns on and disco music starts to play. If no one was with us in the elevator the kids went to town…
5. Early Entry to LEGOLAND
I have to admit the proximity of the hotel to LEGOLAND is a strong selling point already but the luxury of early entry into LEGOLAND is especially sweet! Only a portion of the park is open but we are able to do Sky Cruiser, Kid Power Tower, Fairy Tale Brook, Safari Trek, and Coastersaurus with no lines! It actually reminded me of Disneyland’s Magic Mornings from my youth when it was a special perk that seemingly few people took advantage of it.
Room For Improvement?
- We found service in the hotel to be slower than expected.
- There is no laundry facility which I think is essential for a family hotel.
- The treasure hunt in the room wasn’t set up. The kids still found their pirate booty but it would have been fun to actually do a treasure hunt.
