Northern Arizona is an easy long weekend adventure for residents in the much warmer southern Arizona region. We headed up to Flagstaff for the North Pole Experience and had a great stay at the Courtyard Flagstaff!
A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Flagstaff. And it truly was a pleasure. Naturally I wanted to share my review of the Courtyard by Marriott Flagstaff hotel!
Courtyard by Marriott Flagstaff Review
The hotel is only a few years old and everything seemed brand new. In this mom’s mind, new usually means cleaner when it comes to hotels! The Courtyard appeared exceptionally clean.
The lobby was a very happening place. With lots of seating, big screen TVs, a small bar and a fireplace, many people were hanging out in the lobby. Even though the hotel appeared busy, both registration and check out was fast and friendly.
The high ceilings made our room feel especially large. Plus we had a nice sized balcony facing the courtyard to enjoy.
The bathroom was much larger than a typical hotel. I enjoyed a bath both nights and didn’t feel cramped like I usually do in a standard hotel bathroom.
My favorite feature of the hotel was the free Wi-Fi in the room, I dislike being nickeled and dimed to death when staying at a hotel. And for those who travel light and leave their laptop at home, there’s a business center with free internet access and printing 24 hours a day!
The central feature of the courtyard was a large gas fire pit with plenty of seating. A roaring fire was lit every night and while we didn’t venture out in the chilly night, we saw plenty of other people enjoying it!
Peter and Quinn’s loved the heated indoor pool. We even made a special trip to Walmart since I failed to inform the boys about the pool and so they didn’t pack suits. Luckily we found shorts that worked for the two big boys!
The hotel’s location near I-17 and I-40 made it easy to get anywhere we needed too. The Courtyard by Marriott is a North Pole Experience partner hotel and is conveniently located only a few minutes away. Plus it is only a quick trip down the freeway to Bearizona or the Polar Express!
The rooms include a mini fridge, so we opted for milk and donuts breakfast each morning for breakfast. I know super healthy. For those with heartier or healthier appetites, the hotel does offer reasonable priced breakfast options in the lobby. Plus there were plenty of dining options nearby, some you could even walk to!
And while we had no need to use the laundry or exercise facilities we did notice them during our stay and they were clean and modern.
We would not hesitate to stay at the Courtyard Marriott Flagstaff again. In fact we might need to plan a quick return trip to enjoy the snow!
Our stay was hosted for review purposes and originally published December 18, 2012.
