DIY Potterwookiee Shirt

The Creature From My Closet by Obert Skye topped our list of book series for 7 to 9-year-old boys. It features crazy creatures created by mixing two different book characters like Lord of the Hat (part Cat in the Hat and part Gollum) and Pinocula (part Pinocchio and part Dracula). I think the coolest combination is Potterwookiee, part Harry Potter and part Chewbacca. I couldn’t find any Creature From My Closet merchandise for sale, so I made Quinn a DIY Potterwookiee shirt!

DIY Potterwookiee Shirt Materials

  • Plain t-shirt
  • Iron on Vinyl or Fabric Pant & Freezer Paper
  • Potterwookiee template

Creature from my closet potterwookiee shirt

I made a simple Potterwookiee template using the outline of his shape. Then I cut it out in bright green vinyl and ironed it on to a t-shirt for Quinn. It really couldn’t be simpler. If you don’t use iron-vinyl, you could use the template to make a shirt with the freezer paper & paint method instead.

Just download the Potterwookiee shirt template and get crafting!

Full disclosure I cut out the design using my Cricut machine because I am scissor challenged. If you have skills a plain pair of scissors will work too.

Elliot wants his own shirt so stayed tuned for another fun The Creature From My Closet shirt!
