Do you have a little (or big) dinosaur fanatic at home? Have you ever head about Build a Dino at Disney Springs? No? Basically it’s a Build a Bear Dinosaur store located at the T-REX restaurant. Read on to hear about our experience!

Save this post for when you are planning your next Walt Disney World trip and want to go to the Build a Bear Dinosaur at Disney Springs

Build a Bear Dinosaur Store

Our first visit to Walt Disney World was chock full of first time adventures for us. It was my boys’ first visit to the Florida and the East Coast. We made lots of special memories on this adventure, including a ‘scary’ dinosaur memory. 😉

After running out of time to do Build-A-Bear during the Disney Social Media Mom Celebration, I promised the boys we would do it in Florida. Of course I spoke too soon because there is no Build A Bear at Walt Disney World. Instead you will find a Build a Bear Dinosaur at Disney Springs.

Lots of Dino Fun at the T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs it also offers the only Build a Dino retail location.

Build-A-Dino is located at the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs. We spent a few hours exploring Disney Springs the night we arrived in Florida including making new dinosaur friends or “friendosaurs”. It turned out a great way to spend time without buying theme park tickets for a partial day.

Not just dinosaurs, some other prehistoric stuffed animals can also be found at Build a Dino in Disney Springs.

This was our first Build-A-Bear workshop experience and we later realized that the Build a Dinosaur version is very similar to a traditional Build a Bear store. You start by picking out a prehistoric friend to make. There were lots of dinosaur choices but I also noticed a wooly mammoth and saber tooth tiger as well.

Build a Dino is connected to Build a Bear, so many of the same features are available including helping them stuff your new friend.

Then a dinosaur builder helps you create your new friendosaur. Just like Build-A-Bear, the price of the animal includes stuffing it and adding a heart. Anything additional like sounds, clothing and accessories are at an additional cost. We paid about $40 each for the dinosaurs once we added sound (Dinosaurs MUST roar, right?) and a 2-piece outfit.

Of course dinosaurs wear clothes too! They offered lots of Build a Bear Dino outfits to purchase.

There were only 6 Build-A-Dino locations when we first visited and at this point the only location open might be the one in Florida at Disney Springs. It’s definitely a unique experience to check out when visiting Orlando.

When we were there, it was not very busy but I have seen long lines at other Build a Bear locations so plan on allowing extra time if this is a most do for your kids.

Check out our video for more of our Build-A-Dino adventure.

Jurassic World Dinosaur Stuffed Animals

With the popularity of the Jurassic World movies (and the 3rd one in theaters right now), I bed the Build a Dino location will be very busy this summer. Everyone will want their own dino, whether its a tyrannosaurs rex, brachiosaurus or raptor.

If you can’t make it to Florida for the Build a Dino store, then check out the Dinosaurs and Dragons you can buy on their website. You can buy your dino or dragon plushies online and go to your local store an have them stuffed.
