Since we were dressing up as Rogue One characters for Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash, I had to consider comfort and the weather, especially for this costume. Peter will participate as long as he can be relatively comfortable.

Krennic Costume Shirt

To keep the costume comfortable I bought a long sleeve white shirt made with Cool Dri Moisture-Wicking material.

Use silver chalk holders to simulate a code cylinder

I added 2 silver chalk holders as code cylinders. I cut a tiny slit on the left and right side of the shirt near the arm holes. Start with small holes, you can always make it bigger but you can’t make it smaller. Then I slid the chalk holder into the snug hole and taped it with white duct tape on the inside of the shirt to help keep them in place.

Cardboard, duct tape (and/or vinyl) with a safety pin is all you need to make a rank badge

I made a rank badge using a piece of cardboard covered in silver duct tape. I used my Cricut to cut out perfect little red and blue rectangles for the badge. I attached the badge to the shirt using a safety pin.

DIY Krennic Costume Cape

I often balance the cost of a costume piece vs the time and skill level required for me to make it. I needed a long white cape with a short stand up collar. I couldn’t find any online except as part of Director Krennic Cosplay uniforms you could buy. These are great but pricey!

Turn a hooded cloak into a long cape with stand up collar

I decided to make my own and bought a long hooded white cape for under $20. I trimmed off the hood and used that material to create a short collar. I used this youtube tutorial and heavy weight interfacing to create a stand up collar. Originally I was going to make the entire cape from scratch but decided I only had time to worry about the collar. A stiffer fabric would have looked better but I am happy with how mine turned out.

Director Krennic Costume Accessories

The belt is just a wide black ribbon with a buckle made using cardboard and silver duct tape. We bought the Imperial hat online, and it was snug. There isn’t a wide variety of hat options so we made do with what was available. You could skip the hat if you have hair similar to Krennic’s hair.

Orson Krennic Cosplay

Now I couldn’t get my husband to shave his beard but I think that would be necessary if you wanted a more legit Director Krennic Cosplay. He also didn’t want to wear black gloves or tall black gloves walking around Disney but those would have made it more authentic. I used costume reference information from the 501st Legion to help create the costume.
