Beauty and the Beast is a timeless classic with both popular live action and animated films by Disney. This DIY Beauty and the Beast rose bell jar was inspired by the movies.
DIY Beauty and the Beast Rose and Bell Jar
arriving in theaters in less than a week, the internet has been hit by all kinds of fun Beauty and the Beast party favor or craft ideas. I think the most iconic Beauty and the Beast craft idea is a DIY plastic bell jar.
What is a Bell Jar?
Don’t know what a bell jar is? It’s the super cool container that holds the enchanted rose in Beauty and the Beast. It can be either plastic or glass. For the purpose of a Beauty and the Beast party favor or craft, I think plastic is the better way to go.
This DIY Beauty and the Beast rose in glass (or our case plastic) would be awesome as decor for a Beauty and the Beast birthday party, Disney inspired wedding or any princess party.
Now you can certainly buy a bell jar on Amazon but it will likely be glass and can get quite expensive if you want more than one.
Beauty and the Beast Party Favor
Since my crafts skew towards budget and kid-friendly, I wanted to find an easy way to make as many DIY bell jars as you want without breaking the bank or worrying about glass breaking.
You can order all of the supplies on Amazon but I found perfect plastic wine glasses and clear ponytail holders at my local dollar store. This DIY is so easy that I almost feel silly sharing a post about it.
But if you are still reading this, then maybe using plastic wine glasses didn’t occur to you. You’re welcome!
How to make a Beauty and the Beast Rose in Glass
Grab the stemless wine glass and turn it over, then glue one of the clear beads from the ponytail holders to the bottom. That’s it.
I had a strong craft glue on hand but hot glue from a glue gun would also work great.
Obviously, you want to find a good shape/size of glass that fits your needs. My friend Amy made tiny bell jars for adorable enchanted rose cupcakes.
Beauty and the Beast Birthday Party Ideas
I put a tiny rose (with the stem of my rose inserted in a piece of styrofoam) inside my bell jar. You could set several enchanted rose displays as decorations on a table or make one for each guest as a party favor to take home.
What should your enchanted rose be? A fake rose, rose lollipop or even apple rose tart would also make fun options for a Beauty and the Beast party idea.
