Oogie Boogie Bash Scavenger Hunt at Disneyland

Obviously this scavenger hunt only works for families visiting in the fall during Halloween Time, and more specifically attending one of the Oogie Boogie Bash nights.

Have no idea what I’m talking about? Check out my post about the Oogie Boogie Bash and keep in mind that tickets go on sale during the summer and always sell out.

If you can only attend one specific date, then I recommend buying them ASAP, if you have a little flexibility, then you can wait a few weeks to buy them but don’t want too long. They will sell out and you will be disappointed.

Oogie Boogie Bash Scavenger Hunt Ideas

I have a total of 15 Oogie Boogie Bash scavenger hunt ideas. Read the details below and then print a copy or save it to your phone to use during the Oogie Boogie Bash.

My ideas include Halloween themed rides, attending specific events, trick or treating, villains and of course costumes!

Halloween Time Rides at Disneyland Resort

The first four ideas include riding 4 ‘spooky’ rides at Disney California Adventure. Start with Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land. These attractions get an extra fun Halloween overhaul during Halloween Time.

In fact all of Cars Land is completely immersed in Halloween and it’s fun to experience how the citizens of Radiator Springs celebrate Haul-O-Ween.

Head to the Avengers Campus to ride Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. This ride switches from the regular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT as the sun sets during the Halloween season.

And last, let’s not forget about the *scary* monsters Mike and Sulley. 😉 Ok they might not be scary but they are monsters, so I think riding Monster’s Inc Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is a Halloween essential!

Scavenger Hunt at Disneyland

Next up watch the Frightfully Fun Parade during one of their 2 typical show times. Don’t be late, otherwise you will miss the Headless Horseman at the beginning of the parade.

If you do happen to miss his creepy trot down the parade route, you can always stop by the Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street. You can even get a Disney Photo Pass picture taken there (remember PhotoPass pictures are included with your Oogie Boogie Bash ticket).

Villains Grove is a walk-through experience at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in the Grizzly Peak area of the park. This experience using lights, sound, and smoke to create visuals inspired by Disney villains.

Note there is no actual villains present or candy. The lines can be long for this but we found the line to be pretty short during or immediately after the parade.

Watch the Mickey’s Trick or Treat show at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land. There are several shows scheduled throughout the evening. Families with young kids tend to pack the earlier shows, watch a later show to avoid the crowds.

Trick or treat at one of the 10 trick or trails throughout Disney California Adventure. Score another point for trick or treating all the trick or treat trails. There were 10 trick or treat trails available in 2021.

Some of the trick or treat trails feature Disney Villains like the Mad Hatter, Agatha Harkness, Cruella, Oogie Boogie, Dr. Facilier, Sid, the Evil Queen and Maleficent. Snap a selfie with one of them while enjoying their interactive live performance.
