Looking for a cute Emoji craft idea? Grab a couple of oranges and add silly faces to them! It’s super easy to make DIY Emoji oranges!

How cute are these emoji orange crafts that you can make

Emoji Oranges

Emojis have been ingrained in popular culture over the past few years. From emoji costumes to emoji balloons, just about everything can be bought or made into an emoji. I decided to add a little emoji fun to my boys’ lunch box with emoji oranges!

If your kids love silly crafts or playing with their food, they will love to turn your mandarin oranges into silly emojis. I have two different files below. One free file is a SVG to use with a Cricut machine. The other free file is a printable version you can cut out by hand.

Emoji Party Idea

If you are going for accuracy then a lemon’s color might be more accurate for making emojis but my boys prefer the taste of oranges to lemons. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I originally made these to put in their lunch box but I think this is a silly activity for kids to do themselves or during a emoji birthday party.

To keep the project simple, I created a template of emoji faces that I could print up ahead of time! If you are using this as a kids craft or party activity, I suggest preparing several sets of emoji faces ahead of time. Then let everyone make a few different emoji oranges using the silly faces.

DIY Emoji Oranges  – Cricut Machine

Emoji Orange Materials are just vinyl and mandarin oranges

I think the best method is using a Cricut to cut the shapes out of vinyl because I am terrible with scissors. Like my skills rival a kindergartner, no offense little ones. ๐Ÿ˜‰ This is an excellent way to use leftover vinyl scraps you have stashed away. I don’t know about you but I hate wasting precious vinyl, so I save any half way decent sized vinyl scrap. Plus with vinyl, no glue is necessary.

DIY Emoji Oranges – Print & Cut

This is my original emoji orange set using printed faces and glue.

If you don’t have a cutting machine, then download the printable emoji face file below. The prep work for this version will be a little more tedious because you will have to cut out the emoji faces by hand. Or make the kids do it themselves. ๐Ÿ™‚ I recommend using glue dots or a glue gun (if the kids are old enough) to attach the emoji faces to the oranges.

  • Small oranges, mandarins or clementines
  • Emoji face printable file
  • Scissors
  • Glue dots or glue gun (if you don’t use vinyl)

That’s it! A fun craft that allows kids to practice their scissor skill so much fun ๐Ÿ˜‰ or allows you to use up some leftover vinyl scraps. Winning either way. ๐Ÿ˜‰
