Halloween season is almost here and it’s time to start planning costumes, parties and pumpkins. My favorite kind of Halloween craft is no carve pumpkins, and honestly they are almost all Disney pumpkin painting ideas.

Basically paint and duct tape are the key to most of my own Disney pumpkins. I always plan a few more pumpkins each year, and decided it’s time to round up all my ideas and including other fun Disney painted pumpkins from other websites.

Pin these fun pumpkins perfect for every Disney fan, inspired by Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and Disney characters

No Carve Disney Pumpkins

I am not a huge fan of pumpkin carving. It’s messy and hard to cut intricate details. Plus almost impossible to correct mistakes when you carve pumpkins. By using paint and duct tape, I can add different colors and create fun themed pumpkins

I like to display my Disney pumpkins every Halloween, so I prefer to paint a faux pumpkin vs. using real pumpkins. Although if you like to go pick out pumpkins at a pumpkin patch, most of these Disney pumpkin painting ideas can be made using real pumpkins too.

Disney Pumpkins including Mickey Mouse, Jack Skellington, Duke Caboom and Bo Peep from Toy Story, a Porg and the Mandalorian, Spider-man and Captain Marvel.

Disney Pumpkin Painting Ideas

In fact one of my first Disney pumpkins was a BB-8 design using real pumpkins. We found the perfect extra large white pumpkin at our local pumpkin patch and then topped it with a mini white pumpkin. Then I used duct tape to create BB-8’s signature orange, black and silver designs.

If you don’t have a white pumpkin, you could always spray paint your pumpkin first. And if you don’t love duct tape like me and have some artistic skills then you could paint the BB-8 design on it.

The point though is that I couldn’t keep my BB-8 pumpkin for the next year, so I decided craft pumpkins were much better than real pumpkins for my fun designs. Keep on reading for Disney, Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel pumpkin ideas.

Disney Painted Pumpkin Supplies

A variety of supplies can be used for no carve Disney pumpkin ideas. Again you can choose to use real pumpkins from the pumpkin patch or faux pumpkins from the dollar store.

I like to buy a variety of sizes of craft pumpkins including mini pumpkins because they make great ‘heads’ when modeling your pumpkins after a Disney character. I think smaller versions are super cute and easier to display year-round.

For large pumpkins, I like to use old fashioned plastic pumpkin buckets I find at the thrift store. They are good for collecting Halloween candy and also making large pumpkin designs to display at your front door for Halloween night.

Phineas and Ferb, Steamboat Willy, Forky, Incredibles, BB-9E, Baby Yoda, Baymax and Groot pumpkin ideas

Cover the pumpkins in white or black paint, or whatever base color you want your pumpkin to start with. Don’t forget to paint the bottom of the pumpkin. I tend to use craft paint but spray paint is also a great way to start your project.

I tend to decorate with duct tape because it’s easy to work with. Check out my tips on cutting duct tape. Use a hot glue gun to attach two pumpkins together or to add accessories. Craft foam, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, and fabric can help you complete your character pumpkins.

If you really want free pumpkin carving patterns then check out these carving patterns from Holly at Kid’s Activities. She has Disney pumpkin stencils inspired by Disney villains and Disney princesses
