Beyond the superhero action, Avengers: Age of Ultron is full of laughs. So it’s no surprise that our interviews with the cast were also full of laughs. Just like our Captain America and Thor interview, I found myself laughing through most of our conversation with Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill). I’m sharing some of the laughs with you today….
Fox in a Hen House?
As Cobie and Jeremy walk into a room full of mostly female bloggers…
Jeremy: Ooh, I feel like a fox in the hen house. ๐
On Coughing “Testosterone”
Q: I love the scene where you’re like coughing “testosterone.” How was it to film, to be this awesome woman agent with all men?
Cobie : There is a lot (of testosterone). It’s fun. It’s very fun. I mean it’s interesting because people talk about that a lot with these films that there’s few females. And it’s a male driven film. But maybe it’s because this is our second one. We all get along so well. I don’t feel that divide on set. All the guys are really great and nice and handsome, every single one of them, some more than others. [Laughing and looking at her costar]
Jeremy : In the dark. ๐
Cobie : I mean we have some other strong females, Scarlett and Lizzie. And it’s just nice seeing more, more women coming into these films.
Jeremy : It’s good for us too.
Cobie : Yeah.
Jeremy : Seriously. I mean I love Hemsworth. But you know…. ๐
Agent Hill’s Amazing Shooting Skills
Cobie: She always hits him. I mean it’s like magic. That’s the great thing about being in these movies. You can shoot over here [pointing to the left] and that guy [pointing to the right] dies. Always hit your mark. It’s very exciting.
Costumed Adults
Jeremy: I think the greatest thing that I get out of this whole experience of being in this giant movie and the one prior is… when a five year old ran up to me that changed the game. I’m like, oh, wow, I have a five year old. And that’s amazing. And then here comes his dad in the same costume. A little creepy. That’s the creepy part. But like when the little kids come on up to you, God, it just crushes me. And I mean I’ll stop and do anything for a little creature, man. I’m crazy about them. So I welcome, I guess, is the short answer. I welcome that. If it’s the little kids. The grown ass people, stay out of the costume, man. Come on, I love you. I’ll see you at Comic-Con. That’s okay then.
Like we’re at Starbucks, dude. You know what I mean? I’m not kidding. We just happened to be in costume. Yeah, really? ๐
After seeing the movie which is quite funny and also interviewing the cast, it’s no surprise the cast had fun while filming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Check out this fun clip which also shows some of the cast’s antics on set.
