Does your little one love the new Mickey and the Roadster Racers shows on Disney Junior? I thought a fun DIY Mickey and the Roadster Racers Hat would be perfect for little fans of the show or as the start of a fun Mickey and the Roadster Racers costume!

Pin this fun Mickey Mouse Hat DIY for your Mickey and the Roadster Racers Hat

Mickey Mouse Hat DIY

My boys think Mickey and the Roadster Racers a fun update to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

This project is pretty darn simple to create. Break out your scissors and glue because all you need is a red hat and some felt!

Add felt to a red baseball hat to create your own Mickey and the Roadster Racers hat

Mickey and the Roadster Racers Hat Supplies

  • red baseball cap
  • yellow felt
  • stiff black felt
  • mickey ear template
Start by making a DIY Mickey Mouse hat using a red baseball cap

The first step is to add the Mickey Mouse ears to the hat. You could probably just eyeball the ear size but I avoid reinventing the wheel if possible. Or use a Mickey Ear template to cut ears from stiff black felt. When cutting felt, I recommend extremely sharp scissors, otherwise, you might go insane. 🙂 Then just hot glue them in place.

Then add Mickey and the Roadster Racers yellow details to the hat

I printed up a picture of Mickey and the Roadster Racers to use as a template for the lightning bolts. You could also freehand them, again it just seemed easier to follow a template. Then I cut strips of yellow felt for the rest of the design. The last step is gluing it in place again with your hot glue gun.

That’s it! If you need a few more details, check out the video I made of the process. You will see how easy it is to make a Mickey and the Roadster Racers hat!

This super cute DIY Mickey Hat is a great start to a Mickey and the Roadster Racers costume

Now you have a fun hat for your kiddo to wear, or pair the Mickey and the Roadster Racers hat with a red jump suit for the start of a Mickey and the Roadster Racers costume!
